BERNARD CHANG
Bernard firmly planted his artistic roots in the comic book industry, making his debut with Valiant Comics in 1992 as the regular artist of The Second Life of Doctor Mirage . Within his first year, he was voted onto the top ten artists list in Wizard: The Guide to Comics as well as being nominated for the Russ Manning Best Newcomer Award. After four years at Valiant, he went onto illustrate various books for Marvel and DC Comics, most notably, a brief run as the regular penciller on Cable , The New Mutants miniseries, and the Daredevil/Deadpool Annual '97 , which was named as Marvel's Best of 1997. Bernard’s newest release is BlueskyPress/Scholastic’s The Black Belt Club #1: Seven Wheels of Power , the children’s book industry’s first ever hybrid graphic novel and chapter book. He is also developing Regan Books’ first ever graphic novel, written by Rolling Stoner Neil Strauss.
Bernard received his bachelors degree in architecture from Pratt Institute in New York City, graduating with honors, and was the captain of the basketball team. Former assistant coach of the Miami Heat, Tony Fiorentino, projected him as a late third round pick in the 1995 NBA draft, before his career in art took off. www.BernardChang.com |
