Materials List
Because sketching from life is a very personal endeavor, any media is acceptable for this workshop. However, I strongly recommend watercolor with white gouache as an ideal sketching medium. This will be used for the demonstration. Also note that some variation in paint color is acceptable, for instance some students prefer to avoid the cadmium colors due to high cost and toxicity. These can be replaced with the “hue” colors which are less expensive and less brilliant. If you prefer other brands or have favorite colors that are not on this list, feel free to use them.
